Liebe Musikfans,
der Wurm ist drin….gestern erhielt ich die kurzfristige Absage von Guy Verlinde.
Dies schrieb mir Guy :
It is with a heavy heart that I have to cancel the concert of 9 September. I am starting to have a mental crash and on doctor’s advice I have to empty my concert calendar to avoid going into a burnout completely.
The timing couldn’t have been worse. Just now at the start of my album release tour. but according to the doctor not so surprising, since mid-March the whole cultural life has been disrupted and instead of working hard to earn something, I work even harder to lose as little as possible. Now that the album is here and I’m ready to go on tour, I’m paying the price, for going more than a year and a half over my limits, to save as many gigs as possible and record the new album. The tank is empty and you cannot start a tour on an empty tank, because that way you will not get anywhere.
On doctor’s advice I have to cancel all concerts until September 20th. In this way I hope to have enough time to bounce back some mentally and find a new balance. I realize that I am putting you in a difficult position with that as you worked so hard to make this gigs happen.
Das ganze ärgert mich natürlich, hilft mir und uns aber nicht….es ist jedesmal viel Arbeit und Aufwand, der verloren geht…
Es ist leider zu kurzfristig, um eine andere Show auf die Beine zu stellen, allein der Pressevorlauf ist zu kurz.
GUY VERLINDE DUO
In den letzten zehn Jahren dominierte Guy Verlinde die belgische Blues-Szene und tourte mit seiner Band „The Mighty Gators“ nonstop durch Europa und war natürlich auch ab und an in Eppstein.
Er nahm 12 Alben in 11 Jahren auf und spielte in verschiedenen renommierten Clubs und internationalen Festivals, wo er die Bühne mit Größen wie BB King, John Fogerty, Tony Joe White, Santana, John Hiatt, Canned Heat und Jeff Beck teilte.
In den letzten Jahren tourte er in einer kleinen Besetzung mit den akustischen Hörsongs seines Albums „All Is Forgiven“ und zeigte, dass er neben dem Blues auch die Americana-Musik und das Singer-Songwriter-Genre beherrscht.
Das Album Standing In The Light of a Brand-new Day ist ein neuer Schritt in seiner musikalischen und lyrischen Entwicklung, aber seine Liebe zur akustischen Musik bleibt unverändert. Guy wird von dem jungen, noblen Musiker Olivier Vander Bauwede unterstützt.
Olivier gehört zur neuen Generation der Gent-Blues-Musiker. Beeinflusst von Steven De Bruyn (El Fish, The Rhythm Junks) erkundet er mit seinen Mundharmonikas die unterschiedlichsten Musikstile und geht viel weiter als die traditionellen Blues-Licks. Derzeit studiert er Jazz am Brüsseler Konservatorium.
Es wird ein Konzert voller Geschichten über Liebe, Verlust, Hoffnung, Auferstehung, … aber vor allem über die positive Kraft der Musik. Ein Konzert, das Sie nicht verpassen sollten, mit verträumten, akustischen, narrativen Hörliedern, die das Publikum berühren werden.
